Darn those good parent types... We need to have a talking to them and soon... What would this country be like if that attitude were to ever catch on.
But there is also joy in giving and freedom in accepting a gift... And it's not welfare... The trainee is earning it as a reward for passing the test and more importantly listening.
But hey, you can give your portion to me...![]()
Stay Safe boys and girls... Time for this driver to roll on to PA and NJ... Peace

I can't guarantee anyone's earnings, even mine. But given the tools to do this job, and look at it over a six month period, I'm pretty confident in saying what I'll make when I leave the house. I've never been one to throw the towel in if I hit a bad couple of weeks.
MidWest_MacDaddy, Lonesome and KD5AXG Thank this. -
My biggest issue, is that I have been out of work for over 3 years from my last job. My stamina is zilch right now. I can drive a Suburban with a trailer from Dallas to Mobile with no issues, but that is not doing it on a daily basis.
I'm fully expecting to start in Stage 2 or three. I've driven in the NE, but not much out west. I need to stretch my legs out west and build my stamina. -
I have made 40k a year for my first two years as an otr driver. Which is ok because I'm retired military.
JohnBoy Thanks this. -
Need to go and get my DOT physical tomorrow. I've been ineligible to drive since yesterday. I wonder how long it will take them to realize I can't drive anymore?
MidWest_MacDaddy and 4mer trucker Thank this. -

You're a good cat johnboy Abilene is lucky to have you, as are your trainees. I've never had one second of training, and subsequently have made mistakes that I wouldn't have made if I had a trainer. Like the time I tried to drop a trailer loaded with 45k of roll paper without dumping the suspension. Or the time I tore my trailer flaps off backing over a curb. Ad infinitum. I hope the guys lucky enough to get schooled by you, and others like you, realize how lucky they are.
popcorn169, JohnBoy, KD5AXG and 3 others Thank this.
