    I still wish for more spending money but the wife says no!!!

    I was on the yard last night but probably wasn't the best time to socialize... I wasn't at my best and barely made it off the yard in time to make my drop this morning.

    Keep us posted as to how the orientation and training goes for you.

    Lonesome Thanks this.

    Ya, it's been an interesting night figuring out what switches do what ... on the fly.

    I finally realized there are two switches for the Jake Break... I was switching the 1,2,3 switch but didn't seem to do anything... Oh, there's an on/off switch to it too... derp... LOL

    Was lucky to see the king pin release still worked manually to hook up... But then this morning I wasn't able to pull the release... Guess I hit the right combo of buttons to release it from within the cab... LOL

    Just now found the switch to turn on the fridge.

    CB is now connected and working... :)

    This self taught approach to new equipment is an experience for sure... Just keep poking buttons and hope I don't release the king pin while traveling 68 mph... LOL

    Stay Safe,

    Don't pack too much like I did and wind up having to spoon your bags every night as you fall asleep. I brought 10 days of clothes and it was too much as some things can be worn more than one day. I brought work boots and hiking shoes when really just the hikers would have been enough. I have seriously contemplated throwing the boots out just so I don't have them here taking up space.

    You will also get a couple binders in orientation which will also need to be stored with you.

    Lonesome and Rocknroller4 Thank this.

    I don't do any of those things, but not sure what stage I will be in after a month.

    I was in California on my 5th day here. Couldn't move for Abilene trucks parked at the drop yard they use there. I think Cali runs are primarily for teams though which is probably why they told you that as a solo applicant.

    I think the engine brake setting on those autos is something like:

    1 = 2 cylinders
    2 = 4 cylinders
    3 = 6 cylinders.
    of torque that is.
