Yes it is, it's 1600 miles from Russellville to South Gate. I need to be there before midnight. I figure we'll be there at 6pm local time.

Wish I could, MD, but this old truck is about to wuss out on me. I keep getting engine derate messages and ECU fault messages. Not to mention the motor on the power windows/mirrors is going bad. I had to tell Walter that I needed the shop. Have a load picking up in Conyers GA (in the morning since I am 65 miles away and out of time) heading to Richmond. I will probably be too late to get up with Bill, or as I like to call him, damit Bill, for a different one. I am going to call and mess with him, though, and tell him I heard he has a brand new Volvo at the yard with my name on it. Hahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After being here for 3 years, I had only run the Gorge in TN/NC once. Until the other day. I had to rescue a load just north of Nashville and deliver in union City TN then reload and head to Richburg SC and then picked up at the same place and continued the circle. So, made that lovely trek 3x in 2 days. If you've not had the pleasure, think WV tpk on steroids. So, you know just how I feel about the gorges! Humph!

I had a close call today where the rock slide was not too long ago on I-40. They've got some really sharp curves right there now and just before it there was a big truck off in the woods so we get in the left lane to pass. I get back over and this tanker decides to be an ### and almost ran me off the road passing me on one of those nice tight curves. Well, karma is indeed witchy because there were 2 bears sitting right there and saw the whole thing. One of them flew right up behind this guy so fast and rode right in his blind spot until the rest area where he promptly pulled him over. I think the tanker was also speeding because I was doing 50 (speed limit) and he pulled away from me pretty fast.
