20k legally on the steers? Holy cow. I personally don't like to exceed the weight ratings of the tires. Is that a bad thing?

You are allowed up to you 20k on a single axle, which would include the steer, by DOT regs. However that is usually limited to what the tires are actually rated for. The Michelin XZA3+ for example is a quite common OEM steer, and is load rated to 7,160lbs in single application. So you could safely have up to 14,320lbs on your steer axle and not be pushing your luck.

DOT is 20k. Indiana is 12k. Ohio is 650 lbs./inch of tire width. PA is 20k. My truck tires are rated for 12350. At last weigh, front was 13120.

Had to send pics into the shop. Scott called to fuss at me. I guess we'll see what is next.

I got my first load assignment today. My maiden voyage as an Abilene driver is to...Florida.

Very pleased that it isnt due there until monday though so I have plenty of time to deal with the first run jitters.

Also met the legend himself last night. Hope he wasn't too annoyed with the interruption of the basketball game.

I've been asking a few questions already and found out that HP loads can't be delivered early. Figured i may as well hang out in Richmond and set off tomorrow morning.

Ok. Pin is out now. Wasn't as bad as we thought. Now I'm scaling at 13140, 33040, and 32180. I'm going to call the shop and see what they want me to do.
