I tried. 5th wheel isn't sliding. It unlocks, and I soaked both sides down with WD-40 earlier. I'll try to move it again in the morning.
-
Did you lower your landing gears to remove some weight off 5th wheel?48Packard Thanks this.
-
No, I didn't think to try that. I was thinking the extra weight would help break it loose. But, I'll try that in the morning.
Question for the veterans of Abilene: I'm guessing that submitting my home time request on a Sunday is the reason it got deliberately ignored? -
I gave up on moving mine...
But changed trucks so I might try again...
I hear some run a hole or two back from the standard company settings.KD5AXG Thanks this. -
@460/580 ... Welcome... Second career guy here myself and have found Abilene a pretty good place to get a good taste of trucking.
Feel free to ask any questions that come up.

From last Sunday? I would have expected some response since Sunday... Not on Sunday but over the last few days. Resubmit with a note this is the second request? Might have just slipped through the cracks come Monday morning.KD5AXG Thanks this.

No. Or maybe it got buried in the ton of messages that get sent. ALWAYS check if you haven't gotten a message telling you your time off has been entered into the system by the next day or at most two days after.
As for moving your 5th wheel, it is probably stuck since most of the time it does not get moved. On the newer truck I got, the previous driver had it waaay back and I had a devil of a time getting it to move, but it did eventually. But, as JB has said, you're legal so why move it? It's just not worth it. -
I set mine with the front pin in the last marked hole and the back pin outside of the orange. If that makes sense. So it's halfway where they want it. Still gotta be that rebel,ya know!

Still walking on the wild side eh?
KD5AXG and RebelChick Thank this.
