Yea don't be too hard on me guys lol thanks for having me seriously though. This is a heck of a thread with 700+ I'll be reading through so I guess I'll be busy for a day or two looks like. If you have any advice for me or any info I can use to be a better trucker when I get out there please let me know!

 

I call it as I see it. There is no such thing as a great trucking company. Abilene just is the lesser of evils, so to speak.

Finished my 34 yesterday was sent a Boars head load from Jarrett to Oakgrove this morning,dropped that now picking up a ld out of here going to Oregon for early Monday morning.

Got a bit of good news today old company called today and are sending out my final settlement check,between that and a little from the bank, i'll be able to pay off my house next week.

Well, as long as the taxes are paid anyway! JK! Congratulations Finfn! It's always cool to pay something off and not have the worry of that payment every month.

 

Any tips or hibts for a university park IL virgin?. Appt is 22:30 tomorrow and i am bedded down for a 10hr 260 miles away. Gps says 4.5hrs to get there but i expect there will be mega Chicago traffic deciding otherwise.

I was think of setting off 6.5 hrs before appt time. Is that enough time or not enough?. Is there anywhere tame to hang out if i get there too early?

 

I think there is a Pilot and TA right down the street from there. If I remember right.

 

Depends on where you are currently sitting...

I don't believe I have been to University Park while on the truck but it's on the far south side of town... (As in south of I80) ... You can avoid the entire Chicagoland area if you come up on it from the South (I57) or from the East US30).

Again, not driven there myself, just from looking on the maps... Should not be a difficult run to be there by tomorrow night.
