Ill be coming up from the south on 65. You know, the prescribed Abilene route 8)

I still want to leave myself plenty of time but of course there is the issue of getting there too early and needing a spot to stage

Thanks hopefully i won't need it. Truck stops haven't been all that cooperative this past week.

There are a couple Rest Areas on I65 between Indy and Chicago... And on I57 as well... Not to mention a few Walmarts throughout that area too.

    Redtwin Thanks this.

If you go the route in the QC, you won't hit Chicago traffic. You can park there at the receiver for your 10, or at least you could the last time I was there, but it's been a minute. Oh, and there is a bridge on that route that says 13'6", but you do go under it (if memory serves). It gave me pause, for sure. Not the best neighborhood from I-65 over to I-57. And yes, TA and Pilot right there as well.

I was using a rand mcnally but the route is near enough what Abilene wants us to go. I will fire up the QC navigation and see what it says. Its good that I can park there as i have been squandering my hours this week with unecessary driving trying to find parking.

Thanks again! Orange chicken is on me next time. 8)

Made it...2.5 hours early. Oh well better early than late. Really easy place to get to and while they don't have a parking area exactly there are loads of empty docks so i am hanging out in one of them.

Good thing too as nearby truck stops are on the small side and were already overflowing at 8 pm.

Redtwin give it some time you'll figure out the areas that are good for parking and the ones that aren't.Trip planning will come easy after awhile.

    Redtwin Thanks this.
