That's right I do not know what I was thinking. It has been a year and a half since I drove one.

I'm up. We are about 100 miles from amarillo. I called into dispatch this morning and got authorization to buy a complete set of chains so I'm legal. My day will start in Boise City Ok at 4pm and end in Rock Springs Wyoming in the morning. This team running is for the birds. I'm eating dinner at 8am, lunch at 5pm and breakfast somewhere in between. The miles are great though, it will be right at 6500 for the week when we get back to richmond. I'm just not cut out for this type of trucking though, especially at my age.

Got to sleep in this morning, woke up at 7am after finishing my shift at 5am. Please, no pointers from anyone about adjusting to team driving, this ain't going to last long enough for me to get use to this. The driver I have with me is doing just fine, in fact he needs to be in his own truck. The reason he's with me is because the company wanted him to get some experience in the northeast, so the first two loads they put us on are in the farthest direction away from NY. Oh well, I keep telling myself this is only temporary. I stopped off in Amarillo and got my chains, I picked up 6 brand new singles all in bags. At least I'll be ready the next few days running around in 60 degree temps.

We are sitting in Rick Springs with 1050 miles to go. I called the receiver and was told they would take delivery when I get there, which should be around 7am tomorrow. I need to do some restocking with some groceries, plus I have a few rattles in this brand new truck that recently came off the assembly line in NC. Because of the timing now of Thanksgiving, I'm staying out until its time to go home and enjoy the holiday with the family. The wife isn't happy about this, either am I, but if I wasn't able to be home for two specific days per year, life as I know it would be brutally miserable.

I agree, Team driving sucks! It may be for some people, but I hated it. In my view, driving is a hard enough lifestyle, and them to add trying to rest in a moving truck. No thanks. Take care John.

I just can't wrap my head around the fact that 2 grown men have to share a 25 sq ft space. Throw in a fart or two, a private moment on the phone with the wife discussing your sex life or maybe talking finances and money, well you get the point. This dude is cool, we get along fine, he's a driver, I just miss my privacy, minimally I can't sleep naked like I have the last 25 years.

You couldn't put two more different individuals together, he's a country boy from the woods of southern Kentucky, I'm a city boy from the big mean city of NY. He grew up on a farm milking cows, I took the subway everywhere I had to go. He loves fishing and hunting, I love the Yankees and the hustle and bustle. I guess that's what is making this work out, the fact that we both enjoy talking about where we come from.

Amen to that John. That's exactly why I will never drive teams. I drive for hobby lobby just on sat and sun and all the otr is all teams. 98% have 2013 or newer Volvo 780 and are home every weekend and I still say NO WAY

The Challenger and JohnBoy Thank this.

AS for teaming ( did it in the past ) but now there are days when I hate being in the truck by myself let alone with someone else :)

So I made it back to the yard Thur for the shop to look at my bunk heater. I love being told I am the first of issues, not. The wiring on the fuel pickup pump at the connector was faulty. He rigged it for me to make it work temp until I get back in for them to put a new one on that they have to order.

Headed to Hopedale and Rowley, MA then to Augusta, ME with a BH load. Stopped at the house for a 34 and will pull out at noon tomorrow.

JB, for ALL of those reasons I won't team. The split miles are the same as you do solo. Ended with 3200 for the week taking time out for the shop to work on my truck.
