Mine is an 80gb the only reason i bought it back then it is that most radios with a usb port have ipod control so i just plug it in and control it from headunit like I am currently doing in the truck. When it dies i won't be buying another to replace it.

Easier and cheaper to just have a few thumb drives loaded up with music.

When we drop loaded trailers on the yard or swap them to a team instead of at final dispatched consignee and don't have signed BOLs to scan, how do they figure out our pay?. Is it mileage to the actual drop/swap point or to zip code or what?.

Also i recently had a couple hundred mile deadhead to a pickup but the load info only showed miles from the pickup to delivery, not the miles I had to drive to get to the pickup. Have I missed out on those deadhead miles or will it appear on my settlement even if there was no load number for it?.

@Redtwin - Whenever you do a swap that is planned, usually you have the drop point as your final destination. It goes into the system as you have completed your part. No paperwork necessary. For an unplanned swap, it is changed in the system. Most of the time, your FM will make sure you have updated info on miles. It is pcmiler - zip code to zip code- I believe.

For a deadhead, if you are given a deadhead move (where you only have a load #, and not a TO#) to a location, it would not show those mty miles once you actually get a load assignment. You should have either a load assignment or deadhead move assignment for any move you make, especially if it was a couple hundred miles. I would check with your FM. Give the specific TO#. A quick call should be all it takes or if you prefer, use the QC, but if you use the QC anyone may answer.

One final point, always check your settlement sheet against what you have run for the pay period. Don't forget to check if you have had any miles in the NE region or extra drops. If you find an error, let payroll know and it will get sorted out pretty quickly.

Thanks I will check qc again but I am pretty sure the miles were only from pick up to delivery not from. It was kind of an odd one as I was on phone with dispatch about an overage and he gave me the load info so I could get started.

It is possible that he just overlooked giving me the deadhead load number/miles with everything else that was going on at the time.

Also would 2 pickups and 1 delivery would have extra stop pay?.

Yes. Begin trip, arrive 1st shipper, depart 1st shipper, arrive extra stop, depart extra stop, arrive final, empty final, end trip.

Just curious, redtwin, please tell me your trainer did go they this with you and the newness of the situation has just caused jitters on your end (understandable- when I first started driving , I screwed up a lot). Please don't take offense. I'm just curious. You know we don't mind helping anyone.

It was covered in orientation but I was unsure how the extra stop pay worked. Somehow had the impression that the first extra stop wasn't paid for some reason. The jitters are going to be there for a while with me I think. Just sitting here for a 34 hour reset feels "wrong" like I should be doing some actual work and am going to be told off for being lazy. :)

I checked qc and i definitely didn't get a deadhead load number and there were no mt miles on the load i went to pick up. It was 330 odometer (i know we don't get paid by that) miles so not an insignificant amount to miss out on.

I will ask my manager about it on Monday

Well our Brooklyn load got switched to a Groveport load yesterday. Got that off early this morning. At 8am the QC started screaming. We were deadheaded down to Wytheville to grab a loaded trailer and head to Riverside.

Yes he did, we brought him back from the dead. I have hometime starting on Friday, so I'm quite sure there's s swap in our future. Carl is suppose to solo out this week, but this lack of no north east has things a little screwed up. The plan was suppose to be north east, him solo, me going home and him staying out a little longer. I need to be home for something that I have to do, I'm a little concerned. We shall see.
