Dumb question, with only driving part time and semi local, how does the 45 min off duty driving work?

Best answer I can give you, GWH, is back in the days of paper logs, we had a 'free drive time' as long as we stayed in the city, town or area. It allowed us to get to an approved parking lot with out logging that travel time as line 4. We could stay line 1. Hope this is correct and it answers your question.

 

Im still here but kinda wishing i wasn't as my day went downhill quickly.

I thought I had it planned perfectly but who could have imagined that the rest areas would be over flowing at 4pm?. Not this guy.

So now i have had to shut down much later than planned which means I have 2 hours to travel 120 miles in the morning...up I95...from MD to NJ.

I don't expect traffic to be too bad at 4 am, but then unexpected traffic got me in this mess in the first place.

Today was the first day I didn't like my job.

 

Just a thought. I know they don't want us to use the 8/2 split sleeper but has anyone gotten in trouble for doing it?.
