Truer words have never been spoken.I don't mind talking to guys out on the road, just never been big with crowds.
And like you I rather be in and out, before it sucks you in.

I avoid the patio if at all possible. I'm not going to ask for a run, as I only have 6 hrs on my 70 tomorrow. This will allow me to shower and do laundry. Both overdue. I'm still working out my time management. Being out for so long has made my 10 hr resets mandatory sleep only time. But, that is my issue to overcome. This company is not that bad, I just have been delta some garbage runs. Hazing, perhaps?
Lonesome, MidWest_MacDaddy and Finfn1372 Thank this. -
Don't laugh but I thought my loads had to come from my manager. Could have sworn I was told everything had to go through manager and that we were not supposed to contact planners and dispatchers.
I actually hung around the yard yesterday until 10am when my manager starts. The load i was given was sitting there from the previous day.WotansVolkman and Finfn1372 Thank this. -
Yeah most of the time they just tell me they'll send something to the truck.
When they do its usually boars head,I just scroll down real slow to see if Brooklyn's on the end lol.Redtwin and WotansVolkman Thank this. -
The answer may be no but at least you asked.Redtwin and WotansVolkman Thank this. -
Again, I view it as a two way street...
We need to be ready to roll when called upon
And they need to keep us loaded so we can roll
You can ask to get PrePlanned too... They might not care to do that and it might not happen... But again, can't hurt to ask.KD5AXG and 4mer trucker Thank this. -
KD5AXG, heckclan and MidWest_MacDaddy Thank this.

redtwin I think I know who you are lol but either way, you never wait for a load especially when at the yard. like the other driver said, as soon as you get parked go to the window and let them know you are ready to go. if you sit empty for more than two hours on the road, you can call in and get someones attention. its an out of sight out of mind kinda thing sometimes.
Redtwin and MidWest_MacDaddy Thank this. -
Its a learning process but one that could be made easier.
I experienced the out of sight out of mind thing firsthand. Trainer and I sat at a customer for hours only to be told they forgot about us. -
4mer trucker and Lonesome Thank this.
