Like everyone else the one thing that bothers me is the preplanning.Delivered in Mn and sat for 2 1/2 hrs.Was sent a load picking up in Minooka,Il dropping at the West Memphis yard.Good mile run,the problem is by the time I run the 300 mile deadhead and hook to the trailer I have 30 minutes left, and I needed fuel and to scale.

Now why couldn't that have been sent 2 hours earlier,so I could get out of the Chicago area, sorry for the rant, been a long day.

Ive been subject to that a few times sit around burning your 14 after asking gor a load then get one with no time left on it oe you can't possibly do with what you have left.

Can whoever it is that dispatches these loads see our dot clocks?

    Finfn1372 Thanks this.

Ah well. I told myself before I started truck driving that my first year is is educational I wasn't going to stress over anything too much.

I can't say I kept to the second part of that but I am certainly learning a lot about this industry.

I can already see the direction I need to head in to make this career one that I will retire from.

Well they deadheaded 3 team trucks 1225 miles down to Colton, me and 3 other trucks are doing a reset, and 3 got loads. 6 down, 9 to go. I sent that picture into Kimberley, hoping it might stir up the planner.

Our biggest customer, which supplies all the refrigeration coolers to every grocery store in the US and Canada sent up 15 trailer loads of coolers to a new food store under construction. Without going into details, this happens quite a bit. The freight rate has deadhead built into it. I knew I needed a reset when I got empty in Pocatello Idaho the other day, so did dispatch. They sent me 625 miles to rescue one of these loads. When I got here that put me at 4200 miles for the week since leaving the house last Wednesday, whenever I run that type of miles my first week out of the house, then there's a reset in my future. Now I'll get back to Richmond Saturday night, then go home and my 7900 mile pay period is done.
