After getting the ok to run thru Phoenix into LA to avoid the 900 miles of bad weather across 40, David got us down Rockwall Tx. We have it worked out to where whoever is driving and needs fuel , that person will fuel, clean the windows and get it ready for the next driver at the end of his shift while the new driver goes in to wash up, get some coffee and to do pre- trip. I took over at 11pm last night. At about 5am I hit freezing rain, iced over bridges and overpasses and a ton of four wheelers in get ditch, and this is with the sand trucks out doing their sanding. I ran out of it at about Van Horn and made it to Anthony Texas and ended my shift. I had to call all 4 of my stops to let them know I'm on time for delivery, then went to bed.
I have it worked out to where I'll start my clock in order to get to all my stops, deliver, drop the trailer at Colton with the last drop for the local driver to do on Monday, hook my new load then get to Barstow for a shower, then have David take over from there. Right now I'm up, bored and restless.

JB, I know what you mean about the weather. I'm headed east. Took I10 to I20 to avoid that same crap and ended up in some of it anyway. Spent last night in Big Spring TX. Got up this morning to a frozen shut driver door. Had to stop a couple times and beat the ice off my mirrors, wipers, and radiator. Oh what fun!
YardDart, JohnBoy and The Challenger Thank this. -
That was you we passed today. Suppose to have a bigger storm tomorrow and Sunday to go through. -
I guess it was. I didn't see you, though. Too busy watching all the stupid four wheelers flying. Be safe!JohnBoy Thanks this.

Funny how it works out sometimes. You guys are getting slammed down south. I am running from NC to N Chicago and back Sun-Tues and other than a few flakes in Beckley WV the weather report indicates smooth sailing under clear but cold skys.

Thats how it was a few years ago, all winter long I missed every snow flake.
Running around the LA area making drops. I had to stop last night in ehrenburgh az because I got sleepy, and tired of fighting all the rain. I got up at midnight and made it to my first drop right at my 4am appt time. We got our reload info. Picking up a produce load in Colton going to Wally World in gordonsville for Monday morning. -
I am all pickled out! Im done with cucumbers and buckets of pickles! Now starting Monday I will be chasing Johnboy across the country in a team operation! Looks like we are getting a KW so that will be different...never drove a KW. At least that real mattress will be an upgrade!
The Challenger Thanks this. -
I hear the KayDubs are a little snug for two people, I'm hoping for a Volvo when my codriver and I get there. They've got the most room of all.

I think hes referring to the KW T680 that Abilene got in.
