Right, that's my plan. But I'm just curious how many days each week of training I'll actually be getting trained (and therefore getting paid).

Like Midwest said, you get paid for all the days you are on the truck. With my last trainee, we averaged 12 days per pay period. Only because this career over the last 38 years tells me today that that is all I want to be gone.

Some of the trainers are not as thorough as JB, so if you have questions when you get out on your own, just come on here and ask. That's what this thread is all about.
KD5AXG, JohnBoy, chralb and 1 other person Thank this. -
I have a per diem question. Is it better to let the company take it out or just have your tax person do it when you file? Currently, I do the company thing, but am thinking I'm getting the short end of the stick since it's a percentage of your mileage (now that I have a couple years under my belt, I think about these things!). I was thinking of changing over. Want to find a good accountant first. One who has experience with trucking. Should I look for someone local to me or not?

Ok... Now I will admit to occasionally bobtailing down to the Pilot on X58 just to be off the yard now and then... But I don't think it's worth paying $15... LOL
