I think you misread the intent of renting a car... He's not driving home with it... It's an option to running homeless... No need to maintain a car.

And seriously? Swift?? Knight?? LOL ... NOT

Brian was the short guy down there? Hmmm.... Seems like I just saw him not too long ago. Wow!

Don't let the venting about the Gatorade loop deter you. It's miles, albeit heavily loaded miles. Currently on round 3 to Wintersville OH. 79140 pounds with 1/2 tank of fuel. Did Wytheville to Indy and back, both 79000 pounds each.

Ended with only 4900 for the pay period. Sucks since I'm pretty sure I'm going to be taking a few weeks off with my mom here soon. Really need to stress to them again I need to RUN until that time.

After being out for 2-3 weeks I sure as heck wouldn't want to burn up 2 days of my off time driving home and back. I park my trailer at one of our customers and my truck at my house. Even before we hauled out of this place, I asked and was given permission by both Abilene and this place. Small town gotta love it!

I was with Swift and it's not a bad company. They treated me well. I was home every weekend during my otr trading. When I went solo I was every other night on the Dollar Tree account. I only left because I got lazy, I may need to go back to get this weight I gained back off.

I don't own a car and can't forsee owning one for a long time.

I can rent cars for far less than the cost of buying and insuring a car. The rental cars would be far newer and nicer than anything i would buy anyway.

Windsor. I drop my trl at Cost Plus World Market and bt a mile to my house. 65 miles from the yard. Usually get something to deliver to VB, Newport News or Suffolk to go home with.

So far I don't mind the Gatorade shuffle. Easy drop hook with no miserable broker backhauls. Sure they are heavy but you know what you are getting and I am almost at the point where I can set my tandems based on my rear suspension gauge.

The last two loads were only 40-80lbs over on the tandems after I eyeballed it.

Also helps knowing the routine of the facilities we pick up and deliver to.

I have a winterville load on now but I couldn't make it to a decent truckstop with the hours I had left so I called it a day at the J.
