I should have said combo package. 1 of each for less than buying seperately.

If the weather requires chains, get off the road.

That's what I was told when I went through orientation... I doubt it's changed.

But if you are comfortable driving in such weather and want to chain up, and can do both safely, I doubt anyone would stop you.

Training varies from trainee to trainee and trainer to trainer... If you have experience driving Class A you normally get a pass on a few aspects of training (or it gets quickly verified and move along) ...

If no experience, like me prior to coming here, then they will take a bit more time to start with the basics and give you more time to settle into the job.

You will be living in the trainers trucks and while in their truck your home time might have to be in sync with their home time.

Towards the end of the training, once you are ready for it, you will be running as a team. It's a nice mix of driving "solo" yet having an experienced driver just a few feet away.

Unless you run with @JohnBoy then you run full team from day one and get all the crappy night time hours... LOL ... (That's a joke as his current trainee is THE bomb and was able to jump in the deep end of the pool with both feet)

We have a few trainers here that can probably give more input... And if you have more questions, many here are very willing to help.

    Stay Safe,
    MD

Truck Stops are privately owned... ;-) lol

But seriously, truck stops are fine and probably preferred... I park at a variety of places...

Haha! You're right. I guess I should have said "non-commercial" property or something! Hey, thanks for taking the time to answer. I still can't believe how helpful people are on this site. Just being able to read this thread has been very helpful, and you seem to particularly go out of your way to offer pragmatic advice. It is very much appreciated!

Got a delayed delivery, split home time run from AME-WM to Houston. In Huntsville now, simply out of steam. HP load doesn't deliver until Friday early.

Chewed Victor'Victor's ear a bit, but he was busy and said he'd call me back around 3pm. Lucky for him, he didn't say what day.
