Well, everyone's different, but everyone will agree that NYC sucks. Only thing that's halfway decent is the 10cpm increase for going there, $50 for going into the city, and usually we go to one certain place in Brooklyn. We also have 1 regular place on Long Island we go too. Both have directions in the qualcomm to get you in and out.
The downside to NE regional. Just my opinion, but it's the NE itself. It sucks. Not truck friendly. But since half the world lives there, we do go quite often. You'll learn the shortcuts as you go along. Plus the 10 cpm increase.
I think just about all trucking companies now want you to use a hands free device for your phone. I use a blue parrot headset that ironically is broke at the moment. But use ear buds, headset, or our trucks do have Bluetooth where you can make calls in the truck and hear whoever you're talking to through the radio. Use anything you choose, just don't hold the phone.

All loads at Abilene are forced dispatch unless special circumstances. Example: you don't have hours etc... but the planners/dispatch/fleet manager/ someone in the office "should" check things like this before you get the load.Danch Thanks this.

I've heard both. I've heard good and quick but then I've also heard they were only quick because they didn't check anything. Just changed oil and oil filter for driver and sent them on their way. Who knows... I'll just have to go get service out there myself and seeKD5AXG Thanks this.

Last time I was in FL with an hp load, I dropped at the construction site and bobtailed out. Went about 15mins up the road and picked up a loaded trailer at a customer. So I guess we do that sometimes.

Heck, if they have not bounced me from the thread, I think you are safe... No worries.
Ask away!!! -
@Danch
I have been here almost a year... And in that time I don't think I have had one load that I would have refused either before or after I ran it. Some of the back hauls can get interesting and some I didn't "like" much... But to say I wished that I could have said no... Not really. -
How about this for a new Abilene truck?
