Ya, kind of struggling in that home time issue too. Was supposed to be home today but im being flexible.

Wasn't implying that I prefer being OTR to being home... But it is very peaceful and relaxing at times too.

Trucking, both OTR and local, takes a toll on family life for sure... Gone for days/weeks at a time or home daily but just enough to eat, sleep, repeat.

But those are the current options until they change... Do the best we can.

I think that's one advantage I have. I'm not married. Don't have a girlfriend, and don't really want one. And my kids live with their mom.

As long as I can see my kids every few weeks, and as long as I have something to keep my occupied during downtime (e.g. books, internet), I don't mind being away from home and don't really have anything that would require me to be there.

Strange I know. We still need to perfect it though. We keep getting there early. Go figure. :D

And, in your situation, you can take your "home time" anywhere... Want to go to Florida and hang out for 3-4 days... Ask for a load south... Make the drop... Park the truck... Call a cab!!!
