Abilene Motor Express....A New Place To Call Home

@KD5AXG about home time... That can be very frustrating... I was supposed to be off today but that didn't happen... As RC said, today was a cushion day so it will work out but I am also under load, by my choice, which drops at 4am Monday... So I will not get my 3rd day off as requested. Again, I offered to take this load as it's going right passed where I was going this weekend anyway, so it works out.

But I will "save" that third day I requested for home time do the next time I request home time... As RC said, even when you get home time they will at times "nibble at the corners" a bit and before you know it, you lost half a day of "home time" because they either got you home late or got you to come out early.

We must guard our home time and work with the office to get said time too.

But we all understand your frustration with that.

 

Especially shower shoes....

 

I was offered $500 to a take a load on Christmas Eve, nope.

 

I wish they'd offered it to me. I would have. I made that working on Christmas day once too.

2 weeks. Was supposed to be one week, but one of our return loads got canceled.

 

Yes, yes. A physical limitation that has never been an issue before is now something that I'm limiting myself with. SMH. With good planning, it wouldn't be an issue. But I see that it MUST be my fault. To be really negative here, imagine the money I'd save if I'd stop the self limiting habits of eating and hydration, too. SMH again. I'm proud of you for being able to take naps. Perhaps I could drug myself to slerp. Then when I finally get a run, I'll sleep right through it. Or, better yet, get woken up under the influence to drive. No, thank you. If it is so required for me to just up and change my sleep patterns at the drop of a hat, fire me now. That act has been proven to be very unhealthy. I'm already not in the greatest of health fighting blood pressure and such. I don't need heart disease on top of that. I say again, if "that's just trucking", then I'm in the wrong arm of trucking.

 

I'm not having a good night, so I'm off until tomorrow before I say something that I'll really regret.

 

Just a word of thought here...maybe trucking isn't Youre niche?? I mean, not everyone is cut out for this job. Its not a 9 to 5 sunny day career.
