I had to beg for a training run to the NE. They wanted to give me a truck before that saying I didn't need phase 3.
I did one run to LI and back again and that was my NE training done.![]()

My training was 28 days. I am more than willing to tell you whatever else I can about training from my point of view but won't make stuff up.
Quite a few regulars on this thread did not go through full training. Some came as experienced drivers and others only needed a quick refresher.
I don't think anyone here can give you a company wide training average time. It isnt even really what you could consider a "training" company.MidWest_MacDaddy, chralb and KD5AXG Thank this. -
I'll take a country one please. Bet they know how to cook and do other country stuff like churn butter.MidWest_MacDaddy, gallegosmike and KD5AXG Thank this.

Exactly and also in my opinion if a company can give you an exact answer on how long your training will take they're not interested in training they're interested in putting you in a truck then sending you to the wolvesMidWest_MacDaddy, chralb and RebelChick Thank this.

I took another opportunity that had a more predictable time table but I hope to come to Abilene in the future once I have some experience and can whittle down the training time. I can't afford to be in training for months due to my situation at home but seems like an excellent company.Redtwin Thanks this.

I got me a country gal. Wouldn't trade her for nutjin'. I just wish this weather pattern wasn't causing her so much grief.
Redtwin, MidWest_MacDaddy and 4mer trucker Thank this. -
Sure wish I could nap.

I think you're asking a question that really can't be answered. The elements going in are not equal therefor the results coming out can't be averaged per say.
I'l be happy to share my experience with John but it likely won't help anyone who isn't me or in my particular situation.
In short, John is teaching me the QC, Elogs and tricks of the trade AME style. He knew I could drive in the first hour so all that's left is cranking miles and runs until he goes on vacation Aug. 5th.
Started on July 13th and as of this current run to Oakgrove we've got 12,970 miles laid down. Then we're headed to CO. I'll be in my own truck around the time John goes on vacation.
How does that help anyone "average" the time needed for training? I don't know.Last edited: Jul 26, 2016
4mer trucker Thanks this.
