lyion here . i fount out that when i was with a company called b right out of youngstown Ohio that i was getting stopped all the time at weigh station
and it was because of there rating .i had for gotten it it had been about 5 years ago now that i recall .when you have a rating above around 40 your company has been fount by dot to have over average problems with trucks being put out of service or log violations and credit worthiness .starting with 1 is the best you can have with dot this means the company is in good shape with dot and when it goes up the more likely when you pull in to a weigh station they will pull you around back and at least have your paper work checked. if not logs and inspection of the truck . every time a company truck is checked out it goes on to a master computer and if they find some thing out logs truck brakes out of adjustment it all put on the system .and the more problems they find out the higher the rating for that company goes up .being a owner operator i was getting pulled in every time i cross on the scales out in the mid west .so the last time i was told to pull around back and bring in all my stuff the dot man told me why .after that day i was pulled in to another weigh station and i asked to have my truck checked out as a owner i was tired of being pulled in all the time .so they checked my truck out did a full check and fount one brake was out just a little the dot man told me fix it and ill give you a sticker to put on your truck .after that i was going threw weigh stations and when they would see that sticker they wood give me the green light . so i guess finding a company that has a low number will keep them some what off your back but its not a guaranty of corse .Ive also been told that when a company applies for easy pass with dot by passing the scales dot looks at there rating if its not in good standing they wont give the company the right to by pass scales .

I called and talked to one of the Joneses the other day. Curtis, I think. He was very personable. They sound like a good fit for me right now. I was told that if I chose, as I live in northwest Jersey, i could be home just about every weekend. Plus, northeast pay is higher, so I'd actually make a little money going home. The thing that intrigued me though, is that if I chose to, I'd have the opportunity to get some loads out west and stretch my legs a little. It's been years since i was west of Illinois, and I miss those loads. Is this true? Will they run you true 48 state? And do they get you home when you sant to be?

Do you guys honestly believe that you would have to pay for a repair if another party was responsible? The other party's insurance would take care of everything. I can't believe how gullible some people are

I've been told by other drivers for Abilene that this is the case. During orientation you sign a contract saying you are responsible for repairs to their equipment. My question was the same as some others. "what the heck is insurance for"? only a nimrod would sign something like that. this is why I always take my own personal vehicle to an orientation. If I had that sheet put in front of me I would have walked out immediately.
