It makes sense if the form states you need to pay for any damages that were caused by YOU and are LESS than the insurance deductible. Doesn't make ANY sense if you are NOT responsible for damages, that's what the responsible party's insurance is for.

When you put it like that I guess I can see a point but I still would not sign it. If a company is doing this type of thing at orientation what else would they try and do to you when you drove for them? What if you parked in a truckstop, went inside and when you came out your bumper was on the ground? How about getting backed into at a customer? I still would not sign it.

They are a very good Company, you are not encouraged to run illegal, you are paid on all your tolls, the equipment is top of the line and fully spec'ed, you will come to Richmond alot and of course because that's where their main customers are at and if anyone knew anything about business you take care of your customers... They run all over this Country Even have gone to Alaska. As far as the equipment repair sheet that is to detour 1) ####ty drivers if you have no confidence in your ability as a driver and would or will refuse to sign a agreement than your not that good a driver. 2) Honesty, the Owners have all drove Trucks they know exactly what happens out there if you have a mishap and your honest about it, they will appreciate it..3) they are giving you the best of everything to do a tough job the expectation in return would be some assurance that you will take care of it..
Abilene by far will be the best OTR job you will ever have. It's up to the employee to make it!!!

R u out if the Richmond yard? Cause us Wytheville drivers are struggling. Ever since the "company wide raise" I've lost miles and sit hours and hours waiting on loads. Matter of fact I sit 25 hours waiting on my last BH load. Don't worry. Once your honeymoon stage falls off they'll stick it to you too.

    Is that so?

Let's see here. You signed up with an email that includes the name of a foundation contractor, yet you claim familiarity with Abilene Motor Express?

    Please, enlighten us further.

... I'm a pretty confident driver that doesn't sign agreements, like that
Take my advice... Drop this ideal real fast
Without drivers you might as well stay home today and tomorrow because you won't be in business long
    ... That's a promise

Abilene Motor Express has been privately owned 100% by the Jones family since Oct 2012 when they completed the buyback that started in 2007 from US EXPRESS

Good thread. Rare post from a member with tenure. Adds weight to ONE drivers experience. William Allen Greenehorn on the otherhand, not so much. Grains of salt come in various sizes.

So we gotta hand it to the Jones family for being a sport
Hope they don't forget to be honest and real with their driving force
