Do y'all have APU's in the trucks or do you idle for AC?

No APUs... Bunk heaters for cool weather and can idle over 65 if you want. Well, they have not yet told me differently. I have yet to be uncomfortable in any truck here since going solo.

Sounds like a great company but I have to draw the line at the cameras. I let a lot of things slide in the industry cuz in the grand scheme of things they are not as important as we like to think they are. But the camera is the one thing that is an automatic deal breaker. I understand that it's their truck and it's their rules and I can understand wanting it running while the truck is in motion, but once the brakes are set, they have no business monitoring the inside of that can for sight and sound.

I agree... So I toss a cap over the camera.

I too had a negative reaction to the concept in general but learned to live with it. Now I rarely even think about it. No one at the office has the time to watch me pick lunch out of my teeth anyway.

In my opinion, there are several other issues that are a headache at other companies that are nonexistent here, so I count my blessings and don't even think about the camera.

when you park the truck and turn the key off, the camera shuts down. also the camera is mounted in the windshield so when you close your curtains it will block the camera view. its something that you will have to deal with sooner or later anyway because most trucking companies are installing them and it can save you as well as the company in the event of an accident

No not really. There will always be companies that don't. And I have enough experience and an impeccable CSA score I don't have to drive for those companies. I have yet to see a cam that isn't running 24/7. Mainly because they want the front facing cam to catch someone ripping the hood off. And they haven't figured out a way to leave one running and the other not. I have talked to many people who have been called in to safety for things that were said by the driver, done by the driver, (middle finger, etc). I choose not to be apart of that. As I always say, if you like it, I love it. It's just not for me. I often wonder what people would say if the landlord of their apt decided to put a camera aimed at their bedroom door that continuously recorded but supposedly only saved certain "events". I wonder if they would just say sure, ok, it's your apt like they do in these trucks. A day cab is one thing, a sleeper truck is a whole other ballgame

Can anyone tell me the hiring area for Abilene? I am from Western Pennsylvania and can't find answer to this on their website. Thanks in advance.
