I bought this unit about a month ago and it is my truck GPS ...im also not all that tech savvy .
So anyway twice in the last week ..once in Iowa and 3 times in Rochester NY today it tried to send me into bridges under 12 ft high .
I have it in truck mode with my height at 13'6 .
Is this normal or am I doing something wrong ?
    Thanks in advance !

Good question. I’ve only had mine for a few months. But, I have it set at 14’5, and it has still tried sending me under a 14’3 bridge.

I have had mine for roughly a year and the smaller screen version of the dezl for about 5 years. I sometimes run tall and it has always been accurate for detours around the short bridges. Maybe you need to update it online as I had to do so when I first got it to get it to recognize newer roads that had recently opened.

Thanks for the info and I'll up it to 14ft and see what happens ...the bridges it was trying to run me under were posted from 11 to 12 feet and have been there since the 1930s.

I bet yours has some setting that isn’t working correctly. I called customer service and they were knowledgeable about mine. When I first got the old one I drove around my city in my pickup and it caught every low bridge I went under. Occasionally I will try to trick it by changing my height and it always will reroute me.

Try running an update on it. I believe Garmin recommends updating it once a month even right out of the box. This requires hooking the unit to your laptop or PC, and creating a free Garmin account.
