I had four stops in LA going to 3 food DC's. Then picked up a load in Anaheim going to Phoenix. Started at 6:48 am that day. Went line 2 at 11:53 pm. We did have a breakdown in redlands but that still doesnt seem right to me.

Ratting him out isnt the answer, But run legal.. If you are behind the wheel (out of hours) and have an accident, It's YOUR fault legally. Black letter law - You shouldn't have been on the road to have an accident.
Hopefully this wont happen but the possibility is there, Don't take the chance with your career.

I personally wouldn't tell on him.

Just make sure you keep your ducks in a row if ever pulled over.
11 total driving; 14 on duty; No more than 8 hours before 30 min break etc.

He's probably training you to get extra money anyway, it seems. Drive the hours you feel comfortable driving, because if something happens while you're "fatigued" it's still YOUR fault...

In the letter of the law...you are the "Captain of the ship" the moment you occupy the driver seat and turn that key. Ultimately you are responsible. Your Trainer is responsible in the eyes of the company. (as the experienced one). *My 2 cents: keep a daily journal and keep up with DOT regulations. I takes years to develop a good trucking career, it takes One bad choice and in one minute you can destroy it. Good Luck...happy trails.

You don t have to rat him out. That Qualcomm will send a hard brake message to corporate everytime that key is turned off while going down the road.

Don't rat him out. Just refuse to run illegal.
Sounds like he is just showing you the ropes of running illegal. Tell him your not interested and he can go back to doing that when you are off the truck.

    See how that goes. :biggrin_25525:

Good pointers above, as this is just another example of a so-called trainer that likes to run illegally... IMO, it's a shame this industry has so many folks like that.
