That guy had been talking smack for several years now. Giver three is a very small tidbit of truth in it. Back in 09(or was it 08?) When the bottom feel out of the market mercer cut about 300 contractors. Or was mostly what we refer to as the rv crowd. Take a load to cali or florida, deliver the load them bobtail to an rv campground and park for two months. Take another load somewhere and find another rv campground. If this tells ya anything they made me look like a hard worker and i pulled 3 loads between mid August and January 1st.

For the op. Mercer is definately not the sake company it used to be, but the reality is no company is. Im still here because the good outweighs the bad. The biggest thing in my opinion is they don't care when i want to take a month or six off. Far from perfect but the best fit for me that i have found.

To the heavy haul statements, we don't have a heavy haul 'division ' but we do have a few heavy haul trucks here. 12 rgns last i heard. Most of them also have a step deck because we just don't have enough rgn freight to stay busy on a consistent basis. That being said, i almost bought one last spring and wish i had. It would of paid for itself in just a few months but the time i made up my mind to pull the trigger and spend 90 grand that freight had dried up. I might get one next time the market collapses.
