    Hi there,
I own a 2006 VNL730, and recently noticed that the turbocharger started to misbehave. So, it started kicking it at relatively low speeds, or sometimes even stopped at higher rpms... Anyways, I discovered that the problem is about the actuator unit, but the OE piece costs around 1K, which is quite costly... And I thought maybe I will get the aftermarket one... Though I never had any experience with aftermarket turbo parts, so was wondering maybe someone here tried something similar on their Volvos? Is it worth getting installed? Because I really like the price but am kinda concermed about the quality and the way it will operate on the truck....
    Any help's appreciated...

    D.Tibbitt Thanks this.

You get what you pay for. Turbo is a vital part of the engine. It will make or break your engine. Spend the money on you money maker and go buy an original

    Actuator can be bought for 800 ... Don't pay 1000 that's a ripoff

Well, I decided that I may give a try and will get an aftermarket actuator (https://www.carid.com/turbocharger-actuators/). At least will have my own experience on these guys... I appreciate your replies, folks. So now will hope that the new actuator will work fine on my Volvo...

what kind of engine do u have cuz from the sound of it its either an isx or a d16 if it's isx you probably need to look at the actuator valve before actuator and those i know aftermarket and rebuilt have not worked to well. if it is a d16 make sure the turbo is not stuck inside.

D13/16 or isx all use holset turbos. On my old isx I replaced the actuator with an aftermarket one with no problems but I guess that could always be a fluke and got lucky
