Part of the ABS system that the tranny needs to work is the traction control. With the ABS faulting the traction control is now offline and the trans is just defaulting to manual mode. You will need to get the ABS looked at.

The three biggest faults I've found here are blown fuse, dirty wheel sensors or damaged and sometimes unplugged wire harness. First check your ABS fuse in fuse panel behind glovebox door and if fuse is good, then with your engine off, key in ON position, next to ignition switch is flip switch for ABS. Flip it and read the codes that pop up on the ABS idiot light (same way you read fault codes for your engine). The fault code will tell you what has failed including which wheel end is affected if it's a bad or dirty wheel sensor. Sometimes a blown fuse is your only failure. Whether it's a fuse or a problem with wiring harness or wheel end sensor, sometimes idiot light doesn't automatically go out. If that happens after repair, drive your truck around the block and the ABS will automatically detect no problems and go out on it's own. Usually it's as simple as that. Check that fuse first, then check the fault codes and proceed from there. The fault code will give you the clues to isolate and repair if issue is real.

I flipped the abs blink code. It blinks so how do I understand what the blinks mean.
