I have made a realization that I cannot blame my boss for this nonsense. He had a guy quit, come back for two weeks and requit. My boss is only doing what he must do to keep a company functional in a society where people play those kinds of games. I'm done blaming the boss. I might complain about all of this but I think I will stick it out for a while. 54k per year I'm actually starting to get caught up money wise. It's steady. Home everyday. It could be much worse.
However I will certainly blame our society for allowing this man to continue to sit in the seat. The state, town, city whatever is allowing him to truck for another 12 weeks then he is out of trucking for 6 months. With good behavior he will have a cdl again after 6 months. It's been told this is this man's 2nd DWI. My wife lost her dad to a drunk driver so I have a personal hatred towards it. Personally I think the state should see to it that this man is done. He is a danger. The other day I was in the car with my family and I passed this driver going the other direction. I was actually wondering and hoping he wasn't drunk.
What also pisses me off is that our society allows this guy to continue to truck yet they will pull someone out of the truck that smoked a joint weeks ago. Simply because alcohol is legal and mj is not? Should be zero tolerance for either substance while operating any motor vehicle, and frankly I could care less if a truck driver smoked a little on his time off. As long as he or she is 100% sober when he turns that key.
I guess the whole point of this entire thread should have been directed towards our messed up druken society and not towards my boss or company. I just need to take everything here with a grain of salt, put my head down and keep trucking.
Am I pissed that our society allows this? Yes. I am. I can't stand drunks. I don't drink myself.Farmerbob1 Thanks this. -

Not lying she lost her dad when she was 8 years old. Still effects her 30 years later. She can't get her dad back. People die. Our society is way too lax on drunks

To be 100% honest there are not all that many families that have not been touched in some way by drunks driving. One of my first cousin's two kids were killed by their mother as she drove drunk near Waco Texas back a few years ago. It is what it is. Back before my illness I would enjoy a beer from time to time. I don't drink today because of some of the medications I am taking. I suspect there are always going to be deaths on the nations highways because of intoxicated drivers in ALL type vehicles and ALL type of chemicals. People that text and drive are an issue too. I wonder how many people like I have has been driving in morning traffic and see somebody reading a newspaper or a woman putting on her makeup while driving. It is pointless to blame one single reason for these issues. In my view it is a general breakdown of people and how they respect how quickly things can go south and people start to die.
Woodys Thanks this.
