94' 379. I bought it with no working AC. Charged it and it worked for a day till I found a hole in the condenser. I put on a new condenser and two new lines and recharged it. Now it blows cold for a few minutes then warm. If I shut it off for a while it will blow cold again for a bit and do the same thing. Have not been able to see if the compressor is still engaged while blowing warm but plan to look into it more tomarrow. Any ideas?

Anytime a system has a hole and loses all charge as well as opening the system for repair it will accumulate moisture in the system which the dryer or accumulator will accumulate moisture to its capacity, so the dryer/accumulator should always be replaced.

There are many possibilities for your issue so more info is needed. Did you vacuum the system before charging? Did you monitor pressure readings with guages? What kind of shape are the evaporator and filters in?

Sounds like it could be freezing up.

After Peterbilt oreder a couple of the wrong ones, and then told me they could not find a replacement I said screw it on replacing the dryer. Peterbilt charged it so ya it was vaccumed.

Bingo. The drain seemed to be plugged and the evaporator was freezing. I shoved a wire up the drain tube and a bunch of water came pouring out. Seems good now.

I am having a similar problem both the Low pressure line and the filter are freezing up to the point where there is visible ice on the outside. Where is the drain? 96 378 Cat 3406C
