someone please tell me... if there is a requirement that it works, then why can we not idle the truck without potential hassle??
-
They don't care about driver comfort. If driver comfort was important than they would mandate APU's so that driver could idle in non idle states to get their rest. I think Az. has the right idea about idling for HOS at least they show just a little bit of concern for driver comfort and public safety in that aspect.

call the US marshalls, they will shut down companies without A/c in their trucks . At least thats what i heard another driver say at the counter.
roflmaodngrous_dime and CruisingAlong Thank this. -
But the one poster points out, OSHA may be able to do something for you. -
It should be illegal to run without AC for more then a day or two, a hot and sweaty driver is probably going to drive more aggressive.
ewill71 Thanks this. -
The blower motor quit on my prostar at 23,127 miles on the clock. Dealer fixed it but I got lucky I was on home time. Took the truck up to the dealer and the day before I left the house they were done. Grabbed the truck for my launch. Glad I got it fixed though, had no ac or heat. So defroster wouldn't have worked. Also happy I got it done while on home time so I didn't have any down time

Its been a while since I had a woman ride along with me, and seeing as she would help me get "rested" in my off time, much like AC, can it be fair to say the DOT should require all drivers to have a woman (or man depending on your preference) with you at all times because it would help with "driver comfort"??
Why do people always expect the gov't to step in and mandate creature comforts??Gizmo_Man and DrtyDiesel Thank this.
