As an O/O how much number crunching and trip planning do you do before you accept a load? When a broker or dispatcher lets you know that a load is available how much time are you allowed before you accept or reject the load? Thanks.

i already know what my cost per mile is, so if the quoted amount exceeds that ( after the company percentage), and its goin somewhere i dont mind goin, ill accept it...and yes sometimes it doesnt even come close to what my cost per mile is but ill take it anyway to get to a better frieght area
im leased to an outfit and they like to know asap if ill accept it, but will give me an hour or more to ponder it, keep in mind if you do reject a load that you may spend a bit of time sitting as some places loads that pay decent are pretty thin (i.e the northwest) -

Loads are first come first serve. Every minute that you don't accept a load is one minute closer to some one else taking it.
Many of the loads available today are listed with multiple companies and on multiple boards. If you already know what your break even point is, and have an idea what freight is going to be where you are going it shouldn't take too long to make a decision.
