See if you can sue the shipper for not loading the trailer heavy enough.

I only went to law school for one year, but the first year is the best, that's when you learn Criminal law, Contract law, and Tort law.

It sounds like you could have a cause of action (tort) against the Independent Contractor and the driver.

You trusted that the contractor would team you with a competent driver who would know how to drive under adverse conditions and you, being in the sleeper had no idea what risks the driver was taking.

You should contact a personal injury lawyer ... yesterday!!!

P.S. When you're at home recuperating, you can make thousands and thousands of dollars suing the telemarketers for calling you .... if You're on the national do not call list. You can sue $1,000 for each call you get, $2,000 for each call if it's a robo-call (meaning you hear a recording instead of a person).

These co's call all day long and always use a robo-call. 1 person just won over $200,000 from Time Warner because they called him over 100 times. There's even a book on Amzon telling you how to sue telemarketers.

There are ways to "get your phone number out there" so you'll get tons of telemarketers calling you, so you can sue them.
