Has anyone ever been involved in any type of accident while in cdl school? Just wondering what the consequences would be. Does the student driver automatically fail the course? Will any company hire you after that? It's a lot of money to pay for the school, and then to think that an accident would prevent you from being employed...how would you pay back the school loan if you can't get a job then?
Also, has anyone ever been accused of clipping or sideswiping another vehicle, but you have no knowledge of it? And your driving instructor and other students in the truck also have no knowledge? I suppose it would be possible to do and not know it, but seems like someone should have seen or felt something. Guess I'm just wondering if there are people out there who try to take advantage of the fact that a student is driving the truck and they are looking to make some easy money from the school.![]()

ive got a feeling that you would fail, if you wreck the truck...
ive never hit anyone, you got to be alert to your suroundings, 4 wheelers i dont think want to get hit, i think they dont pay attention and alot of times you have to pay attention for them...
id imagine that if your trailer swings out your going to feel something , unless your going real slow and just graze them...
back in my yard dog days ive bumped a few trailers , and i always felt something -
If you are at fault it'll probably go on your DMV record, at which time you'd probably be hard pressed to find a job with a recent accident. You can't really worry about that though, if you want to drive you need to go to school

Usually four wheelers will stay far, far away of anything that says Student Driver on it, especially a big truck.

that the school I went to had prior people who had accidents on the yard and continued the class and passed. But I did not here of any accidents involving anyone else on the highways, so I don't know about that aspect. I would agree with 916 that it would most definitely go on your DMV and that would be real bad credentials for perspective hire on with anybody!

I think if you had an accident during the driving part of your school, it would not be a successful completion of the school. Therefore you would not graduate.

There was a guy that I went to trucking school with that came back from the road portion of the class one day, as white as a sheet.... come to find out, he had hit a light post.... knocked it over! and tore the sliding tandems off the trailer, while trying to make a right hand turn!!!!!!!!!!
I think they kept him in the school for a bit longer, but I think he finally got kicked out for it, and if I am not mistaken, he was being sued, as was the school, by the city, and the instructor was fired just as soon as he got back to the yard. -
different schhols will probabbly have different rules/policies but when i went to truckign school it was stated in the student conduct book that if the student was to hit something out on the road they was sent home imideatly and we was also told (no where was it in our books) that the instuctor was fired on the spot for letting you hit something
