Its both the mentor and trainees fault.Mentor should be teaching backing the correct way rather then giving hand signals. But considering the time of night it was,the mentor probably just wanted to hurry up and get backed in.Its trainees fault for not getting out and looking before backing.

Listen, I agree backing accidents can and do happen, but the thinking that a new driver is "expected" to bump into stuff is why I sleep with one eye open every night. Poop happens, I agree. I don't hold myself higher than anyone else, but after 33 years of this I haven't "bumped" into anything yet, and no one I have ever worked for told they are expecting me to.Working Class Patriot, WitchingHour, gpsman and 3 others Thank this.

Correct It's both fault but the burden will fall on the trainee for not GOAL!! And Swift has been cracking down on backing accidents.....seen a few friends get suspended and released for backing infractions
-
Does'nt swift have a policy that drivers are suppose to send GOAL over the QUALCOMM everytime they back?Heard that from a swiftee a few yrs ago due to all the backing accidents they've had.

How do you tell if your wife is having an affair with a Swift driver while you're on the road?
He'll still be there trying to back out of your driveway when you get home.TexTrucker and gpsman Thank this. -

I miss the good old days when people could take a joke at face value and not have to try killing it by following it up with a bunch of "what if" scenarios.
gpsman, Buckeye91 and Boardhauler Thank this. -
