After just a month of OTR driving, I had a weather-related accident in Wyoming. The company of course still called it preventable and terminated me for it because of the amount of damage caused.

Now what are the chances of me being able to get another OTR job with this black stain on my record? Would it just be better to find a local job and perhaps drive a straight truck for a while or should I keep trying to find something OTR?

they most likely terminated you because they think you should have stayed put instead of drive. but what to do now..?? try applying at other companies and see what happens. if you get nothing in the way of offers, go back to your school for a refresher. maybe something there can help you towards another chance, as you are showing a potential employer you wanted to correct anything you did wrong.

if that fails, try local class B jobs if not class A jobs are available.

maybe someone will see that as a newbie, accidents can and do happen...put your best foot forward and try.

    good luck to you
