Unfortunately it’s on the police report. I’ve never had a problem staying awake. Clean MVR, no accidents. I always put safety first. Just an unfortunate situation I allowed myself to get into. Heading home from a birthday party and didn’t realize how tired I was.

Yes it’s on the report. I made a bad decision of trying to drive home after working all day and attending a birthday party. I didn’t realize how tired I was. I have always been a safe driver, just this one unfortunate situation that I allowed to happen. My mvr is clean and no accidents until this. I don’t have any medical issues, I was just tired. Im sure someone will hire me, I’ll just be upfront about the accident if they ask.

Cliff Viessman trucking has a terminal in Memphis. I load at the same places they do. The guys all seem content, and they tell me that the Memphis terminal needs more drivers. Food grade tanker.

    Can't hurt to try.....

well ok, but you have to remember that as a driver of a big rig, you are essentially piloting an 80,000 lbs missle down the highway.....the companies have to have confidence in your ability to manage your rest/sleep time.

nearly every application will ask for the police report...having it say clearly that you fell asleep while driving may not help you.

    but i wish you well.

You are right and I understand that. I would never force myself to drive sleepy or tired, the freight not worth my life or anyone else’s. I’ve always been a safe driver, like I said it’s an unfortunate situation. I’ve gotten an offer a local company here in Memphis, seems like my best shot. How would companies know about the accident, does it go on my record?

    And yet you did....

This is what insurance will see. They simply are trying to prevent a lawsuit for if you get in a wreck.
Lawyer after someone hits you: "Defendant has a history of falling asleep while driving, the company owes us 100 million dollars for allowing such a menace to society to drive!"

Sure it's a bit overboard, but it's still how insurance thinks (with a bit of justification even.)

each state is different. mine, it's less than 30 days.

but if you lie and don't put it down, and THEY WILL FIND OUT, you will be canned.....cuz you with held information, or lied.

best to just ask your state DMV.
