I've heard things like that about Swift, there is not much info about Werner though and how they usually handle accidents their drivers cause

I've been hit plenty of times. Never my fault to date. I first ask the company if they want to settle. I then call the companies insurance agent and ask if they want to settle then I call my insurance company.

I think I posted above being hit by Swift recently. They bent over backwards to take care of me.

I just looked up Werner. They are not self insured. They were for one year back in 1993. Since then they are insured by Ace American Insurance Company.

The agent I talked to said they are only there to record a claim filed, that's it. They have nothing to do with settlements or payments to the other party. He said the people who work Mondays 8-4 are the ones who will be looking at the claim and making all the decisions.

They are under Ace insurance umbrella, maybe that will work to my advantage if they decide to not get them involved
