So, its a new day... Called Werner, they didn't assign an adjuster yet. Said we could go through our insurance or work with them directly. Out Progressive agent called and said if we decide to go through them, we need to wait for inspector from Progressive to show up and look at the truck before it get fixed. Since I am stuck in another state, I can't wait for days for that inspector to look at the truck. So I need to just get it fixed and filed through Werner.

Yeah I think you'll get better accomidations from Werner direct. Believe me, they have 50 accidents a day so they deal with this stuff non-stop. As long as Progressive is in the loop, shouldn't be a problem.

    Andy9077 Thanks this.

Thanks, I hope it will get rolling faster. Just towed the truck to the dealer, they should get it appraised tomorrow and as soon as Werner approves the repairs, it should be fine. Adjuster didn't call me back yet, not a surprise if they deal with so many accidents on a daily basis. Had to pay for towing, motel and storage for the trailer so far. Will send them all the receipts as soon as the adjuster gives me some instructions on how to do that.
By the way, I talked to progressive today, the adjuster who was assigned to us (through our insurance) said that legally they are obligated to pay for downtime and loss of income. They can ask for evidence of how much I make in a day, but they should pay if I can't work due to the damage caused by them. Will see

they are self-insured, you can check their MC. They do self-insurance up to $1,000,000 and then ACE insures damages that are over a million

10-4 on the legal......What I did was made sure I had proof of income for the past 90 days and divide that per day and came up with a figure....

Ya, insurance companies suck! There's no difference between your health insurance and truck. Some will just out and out deny the claim hoping you'll go away. Lots of lawyers out there handling just Medicaid claims that were denied.

The standard ploy is to put you off as long as possible. They may offer you something really small to settle the claim. This works for the majority of people who would rather have $100 now instead of $5,000 a year later.
