Better to be safe than sorry. I would drain it into a clean bucket with a strainer and see if you can get it.

Dino soar and jpgale22 Thank this.

how big was it? there is a screen on your oil pickup so it won't get sucked up but if its big enough to cause a restriction on the screen you probably want to get it out of there, but if its big enough to cause a restriction it probably wont come out the drain plug.

It’s small i don’t really know how to describe it I don’t think it’s big enough to cause restriction but I was definitely gonna get it out with my next oil change

Once you start the motor it's a lost cause. You pull it out when it goes in or that's it.

Some of the plastic/foam lid from the container cap? It isn't coming out.

So you think it would be on the oil pan
so I would have to drain the oil to get it out

I was just joking. I'm not a mechanic. I don't think it's coming out untill you tear the off and find It in a crevase.

More information would be helpful. Does your oil fill tube go straight into the crankcase or is it on top of the valve covers? What exactly was it you dropped in there?

As anal as I am I can't imagine it should be a problem if it's just a small piece of plastic

    Cam Roberts Thanks this.
