Are you installing a new manifold or reusing the original one? If using original manifold just clean gasket surface with a air brush wheel. Check and see if there is any erosion or cracks at the turbo flange, if none reuse. Personally I don't use the sleeved gaskets, only gaskets but that is my preference. Never have had an issue. Get new gasket ring clamps that go around the slip joints if it is a stock manifold.snowman_w900, SAR and Aleks_Andar Thank this.

Yes i will use the old stock manifold should i separate on pieces end reseal the slip joint or just replace the clamps
Thank you for your time -
@superhauler, I have heard different stories on those exhaust sleeve gaskets. Unless the ports are the same diameter, they recommend the sleeves. The performance exhaust manifolds are usually ported the same diameter along with the B manifold going on a E model. I'm pretty sure you are aware of all this already. When I had to replace my head due to soft valve wearing, I ask the samething, " to sleeve or not to sleeve", I got hold of Ynot from the other forum and he told me specifically why to use the sleeves on a stock manifold along with few other knowledgeable individuals. The answer; the velocity, but I know you have your reason if you choose not to run sleeves. I was at one time gonna remove them on my engine because the stories I read about them coming apart and wiping the turbo out, but learned that CAT improved them making them more reliable.
snowman_w900 and SAR Thank this. -
If the slip joints are not leaking I would not break the seal. But that said if I had it off I'd put an aftermarket replacement on. I gained .2 MPGs over the stocker with the stock 550 tune ACERT.
The exhaust sleaves do not hurt flow they help it. PDI has a one piece stainless steel replacement that will not break.
Don't forget replace all studs and nuts.snowman_w900, Diesel Dave, SAR and 1 other person Thank this. -
No you don't have to pull apart to reseal it is a machine fit joint.snowman_w900, Aleks_Andar and SAR Thank this.
-
Yeah like I stated, I prefer not to use them stock or after market. Never have had an issue. It is what ever you prefer.snowman_w900, Diesel Dave and SAR Thank this.

What is the purpose of the exhaust sleeves? I'm guessing somethings to do with heat transfer or better exhaust flow? I replaced my exhaust studs on my 5EK earlier and debated whether to pull them out or not but I just left them in.snowman_w900 Thanks this.

Some say like diesel Dave stated the velosity of the exhaust (smoother flow) cats reason was for an insulator for the head in that area to keep from developing heat cracks. Personally I don't buy it. I have not had an issue not using them. Now keep in mind I don't run a stock engine either.snowman_w900, Diesel Dave and SAR Thank this.
