Looking to convert my acert to a single turbo. I have a 70 pin ECM and 6nz manifold to start. I know im going to need a 6nz timming gear and sensor. Besides repining the ECM what else is needed? Are there any threads on this I have had no luck.

there are a few thread in the archives, but I'm pretty sure you won't get anybody to respond to this thread with answers since it's no longer ok to talk about emission deletes on this forum.

Most of the guys that have first hand experience with this are no longer here.......

I think I saw a post saying we could discuss anything a cat dealer would do...... No dealer is going to do that.....

    Very sad....

the two turbos are basically part of the emission system. I asked a dealer about doing this conversion and they said they would not work on an engine anymore that had any part of the emission system compromised.

the acert twin turbo doesn't mean power than other pickup diesels with twin turbo mods. It's like two small turbos vs one turbo.

Except the acert turbos aren't that small, they will support 800hp and offer a broader rpm range than a single that will support the same power. Kinda foolish to take them off to me, especially if there is nothing wrong with them.
