I’m just telling you how this industry works. He can put both issues on a DAC report (hireright) and the only way you can fight it is right a rebuttal into (hireright). People like you who drive on #### like that put yourself in danger and everyone around you the safe and responsible thing to do when your driver and truck are practically insight of a truck tire repair facility is change the tire out and keep your equipment and staff safe

The tire wear isn't all that bad. I would have limped it to the nearest tire shop and got it changed.
What I'd be more concerned about was the "tire wabble". If that was visible from the cab while you were driving it should be checked. Was it just a single tire wabbling or the set?
Also, I can't figure out why your boss would spend the bucks for a wrecker when it sounds like a portable tire truck could have solved your problem a lot cheaper.
Also, how is what the boss did considered moral turpitude? -
@Tripp68 did the right thing about protecting his CDL. if the company was ready to sent the road side service if he had blowout then they could have also send road service when OP pointed out the safety issue.
The owner and dispatcher wanted to gamble with OP's CDL

Also if I was in your position, I could have not moved the truck but also could not have quit. and when the company could have sent the tow truck, i could had traveled with the tow truck to the yard and then quit.Waterman_99, Dave1837, Shackdaddy and 3 others Thank this. -

I'm glad you had the balls to stand up for yourself. Many don't.
However, you overreacted. You could have problems with DOT regarding minimum tread depth, but that tire had plenty of life to make it.
And you DID abandon the truck. It was under contract, and now it's in the middle of nowhere without a driver, correct? Doesn't matter if you babysat it until the end. You quit under load.Opendeckin, ProfessionalNoticer, JoeyJunk and 11 others Thank this.
