I am thinking about adding a stationary axle behind my sliding tandems, if i put it at 6' behind the other axles, i would have 10' spread center to center.would that be the same as a triple axle with a 10' spread? Or do the axles have to be evenly spaced?

Yea most scales will let you have 40,000 on the 3 axles with a regular load

You can do two axles with a 10' spread (10.1 to you pickies....) and 40000.

    Three will be wonderful.

A suggestion. If that axle goes back there for weight purposes and airbags. Try to see if you can throw a couple dollars for a airbag dump switch for docking etc. Those tires will be scuffing but not too bad when you take the weight off it way back there. We do the same on our Ravens spread axle to protect the tires.

I support that concept. We are getting heavier in trucking generally and it will cut down on scale problems trying to CAT the thing at 34-36000 or whatever the problem on your drives with the additional advantage of sliding tandems on trailer to load your drives to 40000 in winter storms.
