There's no reason you can't put an exhaust brake on your isx to go along with your Jake to get some your retarding HP back.
No it wont make it louder, actually it would muffle it down some.
Would it be as effective as your vgt you took off, prob not. But it be better then just your Jake. -

There's a company called blue ox. Just goggle them.
Also BD diesel makes exhaust brakes as well as Pac brake.
Pdi should be able to steer you in the right direction also... lots options.Black389 Thanks this. -
Does any know if this is true. My friend has a shop and he said its possible to adjust the jakes?

I prefer the old school Jacobs system, you can redline those all day long provided you have the oil and not overly hot.Hulld Thanks this. -
At low speeds the system works so well it will about put you thru the windshield.
I’ll tell you it would rival the stopping power of my old 1974 Pete 359 with small cam 350 with a jake and that thing was unbelievable.x1Heavy Thanks this. -
Had a customer put in the ipd cam, he said it was about 75% of what it used to be.
Another customer mounted an exhaust brake (blue ok?) as well. Apparently could skid all 4 drives bobtailing. He had to dissconnect it in the winter. Id take that with a grain of salt however...swaan, spsauerland and wore out Thank this. -
Spoke to Will at pdi so ill be installing their cam here soon!
swaan Thanks this.
