Is there any information regarding this? I know that DDEC IV(4) controls the jake brake, but I am not finding out information about the wiring harness.

Is there a separate wiring harness for the jakes? Is the harness already under the valve cover? Do I need a new wiring harness? Or is there a port on the harness for the jakes to simply plug into, like connecting a strand of Christmas lights to another?

I'm not familiar with jake brake installation, but is this as simple as removing the valve cover, removing some bolts on roller rockers(or related) and bolting them on?

If anyone has any information, this would be appreciated. Thanks.

Wiring is in harness. Some engines if memory serves correct you need rocker arm mounts. I dont think this applies to all engines. Its been a while since I messed with one. But they are not too complicated.

I'm looking on eBay, and a set of used jakes seems steep for $2,000.00. I'd really like to figure this one out. Thanks.

wiring may or may not be in your existing harness -- it was not on my MK...

There are 2 or 3 different models of Jakes for the 12.7 so be sure you get the correct ones.

$2000 for used is steep. A new pacbrake retrofit kit with switches and wiring costs that...

I had a 2001 S60 12.7 that had a Pacbrake added to it and it was the worst engine brake I ever had in terms of reliability! Parts seemed to be hard to come by and had multiple problems with it. JMHO!

I only want genuine "Jacobs" engine brake, not a "Pac" brake. Sound's like something you find on a motor home as a buttery fly valve 'exhaust' brake.

I'll probably contact Detroit, these salvage yards over charge.

I've had several detroits.. I use Ddec 3 jakes on my Ddec 4 block.. i can try and find numbers tommorrow if need be.. all my rigs had jakes on them from factory so the harness was already there. I did have pac brake on one 12.7.. what a joke.. think running along side dragging my feet would be better.. swapped those for the Ddec 3 first chance I got.. heard about a guy swapping isx jakes onto a detroit but can' find proof so figure it's internet lore.. those are a set of jakes though isx hit hard..
