Hey I've got a question about taking on additional loads for cross country truckers.

I don't know how trucking loads work, but I think it's mostly by weight restrictions. What I want to do is ship a load of surfboards from San Diego to Philly or somewhere in that area.

The boards are very light for the amount of room they take up and can be packaged in a way that is very easy to load and unload. I could have someone there to load and unload as well. The only problem is space. For 8-12 boards it might be 400 pounds or less.

I'm just wondering if it's this happens, a trucker will pick up an extra load if he has the space and weight available and what the cost would be?

What you are talking about is LTL (Less Than TruckLoad) shipment. You cannot post your load here, but you can post it on Uship or on of the other load boards. You might do a search on google for LTL rates, or again, Check Uship.
