Advancement in the Oilfield

Thanks for all the really good responses so far. Ridgeline, I did apply for several positions with Halliburton last fall (about 20). I got rejected on almost all of them over the following months. I figure being there in person is the better (only?) way to go. I'm not a recent graduate either, so the office jobs are pretty much a no-go for me, too I think. My background is in accounting, but after two-layoffs and a frustrating last four years, I'm looking for something else.
