My last job, ended by retirement due to major surgery, was salaried. Salary was $X a week, period. It really cut down the stress. I didn't have to worry about "getting that next load". Shipper / reciever running hours behind? Weather forcing road shutdown? Hometime ( by my choice, I was out 3 weeks and home 1 )? Breakdown? No pay worries, the same amount hit my bank account every week.
That's what a salary is. If there are caveats about miles or hours or anything else, it's not a salary based income.

The concept of salary pay as a company driver is good, as long as you’re paid fairly for the amount of work you’re doing.

As long as you’re happy with the pay, it’s a good deal, as you don’t lose money when the truck breaks down, or you hit traffic with cpm pay. You can also look forward to getting paid when you’re on home time too.

Me personally I had a salaried job when I was younger. It was by far the worst driving job I’ve ever had.Your situation could be different I guess everything has exceptions.
