Eh, #### happens; I had a receiver intentionally route me over a low weight bridge, was posted for like 32000lbs. I stopped and called again and they said to just ignore the sign… I called non-emergency and a cop came out… he also said to ignore the sign, “how do I know you’re loaded?” but would block traffic if I wanted to turn around.
Pretty sure a sleeper and reefer is over it empty…
There’s also a low weight (36T) bridge in Arkansas that’s not listed in the atlas or gps; the sign is now on street view but when I first noticed it wasn’t. It’s on pretty much the only viable truck route thru the area; no way to turn around, only choice is over if it’s your first time thru there. A bit surprised cops haven’t setup to pop people but there’s really nowhere to stage portables either. I hated taking that route, so whenever I’m over 36T I tell them I can’t go that way now.

No criticism intended -- but could you clarify a bit where the above low-weight bridge in Arkansas is located?
Thanks....

The other more popular brand. I wouldn't trust that one as a paperweight. It's very good at using more fuel then necessary. If it can find its way out. -

A Martin's Creek bridge on US 62/412. Our company fuel routes through there and I've seen a lot of other truck traffic as well. Not many options for cutting from SE of Memphis over to i44 or Springfield.
That area is filled with low weight bridges and even though the atlas shows other staa routes, I'd still be wary exploring that area looking for an alternative while loaded; I do most of my "creative routing" on dhs.Last edited: Oct 28, 2023

I've delivered at VMI a lot of times when I was on the road. I don't remember that bridge but I do remember having to deal with a road problem the first time so when you need help you call the VMI cops, and they will respond very fast and either guide you through the bridge or will direct you out of the situation. The Lt Col who stopped should have been on the phone with the VMI cops and telling them to dispatch someone to help, what a turd.
lual Thanks this. -

I would have avoided going thru a college campus, since, normally, it's not a truck route. And if I was on the road today, I would still be using a paper map !!! Not GPS. But that's just me.
Numb and 4wayflashers Thank this.
